Copyright information

We strongly recommend using any storage media for legal purposes only.

CD / DVD Labelling

We explicitly recommend not to use labels to identify and design your records. Labelling a CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc inevitably causes unbalancing, which in turn gives rise to inaccurate writing. It will also interfere with the reading process, even if the disc is labelled after the writing process. This also applies to labels specifically offered for CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc applications.

Mark your discs with a suitable soft, permanent pen. Alternatively, use printable blank media such as e.g. CD-R 80 XLayer 52x inkjet printable or DVD-R 4.7GB XLayer 16x inkjet printable.
For professional use we recommend our duplication grade XLayerPro and XLayerEco. These discs are available in white and silver, inkjet and thermal printable.
For the use on a TEAC thermal transfer printer, we recommend XLayerPro white/silver thermal printable media. For offset print please use XLayerPro offset CD-R/DVD-R/DVD+R.

DVD+R DL 8x Speed

DVD+R DL single sided 8x speed discs are compatible with all DL drives and recorders, as well as the majority of DVD-Rom and DVD video players. Single sided discs are capable of storing up to 8.5GB of data or over 120 hours of MP3 files. Using a disc without an firmware update can cause writing errors or even damage existing files.

Firmware Update

To avoid potential compatibility trouble, make sure that your recorder firmware is constantly updated with the current firmware version (Windows-Flash). Your recorder may then be able to recognise previously unknown DVDs and will be able to burn them.
Always check the firmware release installed on your recorder first and then search for the latest version available from your recorder manufacturer. DVD manufacturers constantly release firmware-updates for new media and make them available on their websites.
